Selena Quintanilla Perez (born Selena Quintanilla Quintanilla) was an American musician from the United States. Her music had the Texan style and did quite well. The singer was born in Lake Jackson Texas on 16 April 1971. Selena was born in America and although her mother tongue is English she sang in Spanish. Selena was raised in a loving and happy family, with Hispanic roots. Her father, Abraham Quintanilla, was also a musician, although his music did not receive the same recognition as his daughter. Selena was gifted and her family did their best to make sure she could achieve her talents. After her family realised how talented she was, Selena began to perform at her father's restaurant along with her brothers. The group she created with her brothers was known under the moniker Selena along with the Dinos. The children reached recognition after the release of their debut single in 1984.
