Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to be given a perfect score out of 10 at the Olympic event. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci when she was just six years old. She began competing in the national junior championships of 1969 where she placed 13th. She was the winner in 1970. In her first international competition in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she took home three gold medals as well as in 1973 and 1974 she won the all-around junior championship. She won against Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva. The five-time European Champion in her first senior international event in the year 1975. At this competition, she took home four golds as well as a silver. In 1976, she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games. She also was the first female in history to dismount the parallel bars by using a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she started appearing on touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th September 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a professional in the field of entertainment in her teens. Her first job was as a figure skater, performing alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the show that was a traveling spectacle that were known as Ice Capades. They featured ice-skating shows that were performed accompanied by musical theatre.
